WF1 and KTRECORDS have collaborated on a new song title "Breaking Restraints" . Check it out!

.
/* */
Last post I mentioned that WF1 and F-777 are heading up a project and asked Josh and I to be a part of it. So far things seem to be runnin smoothly! A few artists (including Josh and I) have released demos for the album and they sound great! You can find Josh's demo here and you can find my demo here.

WF1 was also nice enough to make a video collab of the demos and posted them on youtube.

Lastly, if you want more info on the album, be sure to check out

wf1s page for more information on the album and don't forget to vote on the recently rerelease of Moments of Inspiration . It's even better than the first!<a

Even though Josh and I (Jason) haven't been posting too much music lately... it doesn't mean we haven't been busy. Josh has been hired to do tons of music for various flash artists over the passed year making it very hard to collaborate on anything and I have been busy with school, work, and... well... gaming (lol).

Just recently though, Josh and I were invited to join in the first ever Newgrounds Album Collab! There is going to be some big names on this album including Wyldefyre1 , F-777 , and SBB ! It's going to be a fun experience for us and hopefully we'll be able to make a name for ourselves up their with some of those other bigwigs. Wish us luck!

Jason here! (aka... ncjason77 on youtube for the people like amd908 on youtube who don't believe me..)

Every once in awhile Josh and I end up with a song on youtube in one way shape or form. It's actually kind of cool to see that people like our music enough to take the time to make movies with it and post it in various places. As a matter of fact... if anyone happens to find youtube videos with our music in it, feel free to send us the link and I'll throw it up here!

Sup all! Jason from KTRECORDS here!

First... KTRECORDS might get to actually be "KTRECORDS" again soon! Josh (the "K" in KTRECORDS} has a incredibliy tough work and school schedule, making it very hard for us to get together and make music. Even our song "Lost in Ambience" was made without us even bein in our "studio". But now it sems he's had a few shift changes and we might get a little time create some of that incredible music again that we used to make instead of me posting my sorry solo attempts at music to keep KTR alive, lol.

Second... My latest solo song "Moments of Inspiration" seems to have somehow made the front page of audio, lol. A lot of people have been writing their own little short stories to go along with it in their reviews, but one person asked if they could write one big huge backstory kind of thing for it. I didn't see a problem with it, so I said sure. Sure enough a day later I got a huuuge backstory in my message box. I told them if they finished it, I would post it in a blog, so here it is!

.

A brave Warrior stood against a group of 4 Goblins. Surrounded by a rocky crevice, there was no running away. This fight was to the death.

The Warrior was in a terrible situation. He was cornered by this putrid band of thieves, his back to sharp, piercing rocks and the thieves' backs were to an open space. He had to think of something, and he had to think of something quickly.

He had two things; His sharpened sword, "Phoenix", and his will to fight. The goblins were inching ever closer to him, knives and daggers pointed at our brave fighter's throat. The Warrior analyzed his opponents. Goblins, probably unintelligent, and obviously had a love for gold. Broken swords were laid across their backs. Apparently, gold wasn't all they loved. Smashing was a favorite pastime too.

"Give us gold and weapon NOW!!" shrieked the lead goblin. A headdress made of damaged daggers, smashed pendants, and crushed helmets adorned his head. His knife was the longest of all, and was gold. Whether it was painted or not, one could not tell. Our Hero was unresponsive, still thinking of a way to get out of this alive.

"You no talk? Well, we take you down then!!" The goblins charged forward, daggers aimed to kill, they were almost there, only a few seconds until an untimely death befell our Warrior...

"WAIT!!!"" Finally the Fighter spoke. A flash of inspiration had come to him, and right when he needed it most. "Fine, you win, O Powerful and Terrible goblins. I shall give you my sword. Please, I beg of you, take good care of it. It is a prized treasure of mine." The Warrior threw his blade to the ground. It landed close to the lead goblin.

A mischievous grin spread wide across the face of the monsters. "We destroy sword now, fool. You never cross paths with goblins again. Wait, you die now, no worry about that." The group howled with laughter. A raised hand silenced the two henchmen. The lead goblin produced a battle hammer from his back. Not everything there was broken. "Say goodbye to precious treasure, Warrior!!!"

With a loud crash, the goblin's hammer devastated Phoenix. The sword lay on the ground, smashed in half. "Pick it up, Gan!" The lead yelled at one of his cohorts. Gan picked it up, and let out a terrible shriek, screaming "OWWWWWW!! OW OW OW!! THE SWORD BUURRRRNNNNSSS!!!!!" Phoenix was glowing a vengeful shade of red. It emitted a fiery glow, and it seemed to repel the goblins.

"You try to give me cursed sword?? FOOL!" The Leader dashed to the sword and snatched up the two halves. That was a mistake on his part. "HOOOOTTTTTTT!!! SWORD HURT BADDDDDD!!!!" Phoenix clattered to the ground, and fire poured out of each part. The flames reached each other and embraced. Slowly, in a miraculous feat of Magic, Phoenix was repaired. The goblins stood in awe. The two henchmen dashed away, leaving only their leader to face the Warrior.

"How you repair? Me smash, YOU NO REPAIR AFTER SMASH!!"

"I didn't repair Phoenix," said the warrior with a smug expression on his face, "It was reborn. Sadly, you don't have that power. This is for calling me an idiot!!" With a deft stroke the Warrior sliced of the goblin's headdress. "And this is for destroying Phoenix!" A fiery slash cut the goblin across the heart. It was almost over. "Why?" whined the goblin, coughing up blood as he spoke. "We just play joke on you! We not really kill you!"

"Those weapons say differently." was the Warrior's cold reply. Blood pouring from the goblin's heart formed a small puddle. With one final, vengeful, killing blow, Phoenix slashed it's way through the center of the Leader's body. Just as Phoenix had been reduced to two halves, so had this cruel goblin. The Warrior walked away, carefully stepping over his defeated adversary. Dealing with goblins is tough, thought the Warrior.
Good thing, then, that inspiration only comes when you need it most.

I thought it was a good read, so I'm sure everyone else will enjoy it too. If you would like to contribute your own backstory, feel free to and I will post them in blogs as well!

Finally... Make sure to check out Josh's solo stuff. Josh has contributed songs like "Long Walk Home" and "Kaim Reborn" that will absolutely blow you away!

That for stoppin by!

Feel free to drop off a comment or send us a message and will be sure to respond as soon as possible!

Way back when Josh and I decided we were going to start posting music on newgrounds... we never dreamed things would happen the way they have been! We have been lucky enough lately to get a lot of attention from a lot of companies and flash designers and I gotta say... it's pretty damn sweet!

KTRecords has been asked to do a soundtrack for an mmorpg that will begin development in the near future. We've been chatting back and forth with the company a lot lately, and I've gotten say... it's gonna be awesome! Unfortunately, we can't leak any information about the game to anyone yet, lol.

We also have created a partnership with the flash game designer named Badim. He is great to work with as he shows us the ins and outs of being a flash designer and even lets us help with his projects! Who knows... maybe in the future, KTRecords will become KTRecords&Flash!

We have also done a lot of work with the well-known flash designer "Afro-Ninja". "Fro" was a personal friend of mine even before Josh and I started creating music for newgrounds. I later found out he was a flash artist on the site and asked if wanted to use any of my old dusty music for any of his future flash products. I ended up tweaking a song for his game of his "AN Escape" series and then that was my introduction to music on the site (although you won't find the full version of the song anywhere on the site, lol). Later he used it again for his second game and Josh created the "Afro-Ninja Theme Song", which became a huge hit! Now we do all kinds of music for Fro. The latest ones being "Fist of Fire". "Memory Remains", "Shotgun Echoes" and "Loud Whispers"; Which are all on Fro's soon to be released on newgrounds game "Territory War Online". Make sure you check that game out. It is pretty much the most kick-ass game you'll find on newgrounds, lol.

Josh has also been pretty busy on his solo account. He has had a quite a few offers of his own. Right now he is creating a large chunk of a straight to dvd movie soundtrack for a guy named "Yuji" (not Yuji Naka.... sorry to all you sega fans, lol). Josh released a demo version of one of the songs that will appear in this movie and it was a smash! You guys might have heard of the song titled "A Long Walk Home". Yeah... that song is pretty much just amazing. If you haven't heard it yet, go check it out on Josh's solo account (Kelwynshade).

Even after all our current projects, we are still in negotiations with a few other companies that would like to use our talents. So... needless to say.... we're been busy, lol.

Well, I'm done rambling... Feel free to drop us a message if you have any requests or if you just want to say wassup! We'll reply as soon as we can! Talk at ya lata!

p.s.
Just for the record... I kick Josh's ass at street fighter 3.... Makoto pwns everything!
Rob pwns Fro!

So I sent a random idea for a song to Josh a week or so ago. 20 minutes later he sent the idea back with a whole new twist on it that pretty much made me shit myself. After tweaking it on and off between the 2 of us, I finally just decided to post it for the hell of it. Who would have thunk it would make best of the week, lmao. I guess that just goes to show what Josh and I can do when we actually work on a song together, hahaha. The new song is called "Lost in Ambience". It's pretty much what the title says it is. An extremely relaxing but sweet ass song that everyone should throw on their ipods. Give it a listen and tell us what you think!

-Jason Turner(KTRecords)

Yeah, When jason sent me his Idea, I had this immediate idea to build onto his. It went in a different direction and Jason was ok with that. He's got some awesome ideas and he's pretty flexible when it comes to letting me run with them. The song turned out pretty good (for about an hours worth of 'work'). I'm happy it made best of the week at the #1 spot.

Also, feel free to jump on over to http://www.kelwynshade.com and check out my solo stuff along with some KTRecords stuff.

Josh and I aren't dead yet! As a matter of fact, we've been pretty damn active lately! We've gotten quite a few offers and requests to help with various projects recently. The biggest one so far is with a flash author by the name "Badim". I've guess we've kinda become his partners and we've been pretty damn busy with that. So, anytime you want to hear KTRECORDS music, you're probably going to have to check his games, lol. We have also been quite busy with school too, but every once in awhile we try to get together and crank out a tune here and there. I have posted one just recently, but we'll have to see how long it stays up there. It seems there has been an explosion of zero-bombers lately... Pretty immature if you ask me, but hey, that's the internet for you! If people don't have anything better to do than colaborate with their newgrounds buddis and vote down massive amounts of songs in their free time, them more power to them. Who knows though... maybe they'll grow up?

Josh and I have been crazy busy lately. Josh has started school again to be in video game design somethin like that, and I have been stressing over my accounting homework. Fortunately, in all the craziness, Josh and I have still been able to pump out a few songs here and there.
Josh released a few new songs on his solo account account last week. Probably my favorite one would be Kaim Reborn . It's a tribute to the awesomeness that is Lost Odyssey. If you haven't played it...I recommend you give it a try. It the best rpg I've played in a looooooooong time.
I was personally able to get a new song out as well, though I just posted it under the KTRECORDS logo instead of using my own account since for whatever reason, I can't post music on it. This new song is *What Have I Done?* . This is the first song I've ever made that I have actually been happy with the final product. It draws a lot of influence from Josh's style of music, which we both tend to get a big laugh out of. It makes sense though since I have been learning most of my music creation from Josh anyways, lol.
Also, Josh has been hired to make music for the game series called Elite Forces. Make sure you hit up his page at kelwynshade to give him props. It's not every day you get paid to do something you enjoy :) .

Well, that's all I have today. Stay tuned for more updates to see what's happening in the world of KTRECORDS!

You know... it's only been like 5 or 6 months since Josh or I has posted anyting on this blog whatchamahookie... So I might as well throw something on here. Unfortunately Josh and I have been pretty busy with life (school, work, etc.) lately, so we've been havin a harder time getting together to make music. Obviously that shows since we've really only had one co-op project posted in friggin months (Fist of Fire loop). Josh has been pounding out music of his own at home under his solo acct Kelwynshade. He also has gotten his own site up and running at www.kelwynshade.com. You should check out that site and see some of the crazy updates he's got goin on over there.

I have posted a few of my original WIPs under the KTR logo since newgrounds is havin trouble posting my music under my own personal accout. Suprisingly enough, Link's Reflection got a 6th place on the front page of the audio portal! I don't really know if it deserves that high of praise, but I won't complain. I thank all the people that enjoyed it, and maybe someday I'll work on it some more and actually finish something, lol.

Also, Afro-Ninja is almost done with his new game Territory War Online. That game comes complete with more KTR music, a couple solos from Josh which have already been posted and then an OOOOLLLLDDDDD song made by me as well. Maybe I'll eventually post that on here, but I fear the raping it'll probably get since I made it even before I really got into music creation, so... it's uh... yeah.... I guess if Afro-Ninja liked it enough to put in his game, it shouldn't be too bad though right?
Also I am the official voice actor in Territory War Online! Go me! I get all of 3 lines lmao!

Ok, I rambled. I'm gettin outta here. More likely nobody read this whole ramblefest anyways, lmao. Thanks again for the support and we'll catch you later!

It's finally happened. It started out as a small loop for the end of Afro's new game "The Phonebooth"... But people wanted more... After a month and a half of hard work from Josh, the complete Afro Ninja Theme is finished. It's completely different from the normal KTR style, so please check it out and comment on what you think. Maybe we can try something like it again sometime. Feel free to check out our other stuff as well. Also, check out Josh's solo work at http://kelwynshade.newgrounds.com/ . His songs like "Path of Memories" will be sure to blow you away. That's all for today, hope you enjoy our music!
